Since I am learning that prior to 2005, the Purina donation was
earmarked for the National and prior to that, those regional clubs
that put on the Futurity/Maturity got a small and set amount from the
PC, I am wondering how did the Regional Clubs get their trophies
before 2005?
Since my treasured "wood" came from the years 2000-2004, I belatedly
thank those clubs who managed to get the money to pay for the plaques.
Would it be time to have "Regional" Futurities , with each REGION
putting on the Futurity and alternating the park by clubs each year?
Then the whole Region would be responsible for the cost of the match,
and share in the profits, if any. The matches could be planned for
how many years ahead there are clubs in the region. Organizing it all
at one time.
and then the Obed/rally/herding/agility people would not be left out
of the Purina funds... It could all go to the National and split
between the venues. What if Purina pulled it's donation (Don't EVEN
think that, Stormy), but seriously, what would happen then? Somehow,
programs would be cut back, and somehow the show would go
on...wouldn't it?
