Try rubbing some peanut butter on their butts. Or, a dab of honey or whatever
she likes. Encourage her to lick them.
DO NOT LEAVE HER ALONE WITH HER PUPS.
Also, two tums (750mg tabs) at each meal. Start her off with 4 right away.
CalSorb is the best but you have to order that and you don;t have time.
Her calcium may be off ever so slightly and a blood test will not tell you much
unless it is way off. You cannot harm her by using the oral calcium. My moms
get tums at least twice per day until pups are completely weaned.
Are you sure ALL of the pups have been whelped? Did you give an oxy clean-out
shot afterwards?

ey all,Here is my question: My litter was born yesterday, Sunday. Mom had a
ard time having the pups as they all were in excess of 1lb 5oz. After the
irst one was born, she did not want anything to do with him. She would not
ook at him or nothing. After the litter was born she would nurse them but not
ake any other interest in them. I took one of them and showed it to her and she
rowled. This morning I finally was able to remove the muzzle and she sniffed
hem but would not clean them. She did give them a kiss. Big growth. I took
he day off so I could monitor her and pups. Of course I do not trust her with
hem. I am planning on sitting outside the whelping box with her and babies
oday. Does anyone have any suggestions? Beth
