PERMISSION TO CROSS POST
In an attempt to undermine the "Rescind HEART" petition drive, the City of
Albuquerque is posting signs that Dog Parks are not affected by HEART. That
is simply wrong -- the provisions for Dog Parks have been repealed by HEART.
When calling 311 about Dog Parks, the city attorney has either not answered
questions or has hung up on the caller. Animal control and the city parks
department seem equally confused about Dog Parks. What's wrong with this
picture? I expect to see an open government.
Unfortunately, there have already been unsubstantiated reports of
"selective" enforcement by the City against those who oppose HEART. Who can
provide an unbiased investigation of those reports? Furthermore, if HEART
is not rescinded, the Mayor has publicly stated he will "selectively"
enforce HEART. How will he pick who gets "selectively" enforced? -- Anyone
who has expressed opposition to City policy?? We seem to be seeing examples
of that right now.
