After the Maturity there will be a Hospitality Event (Beverages & Snacks -
use your new glass) and an Educational Presentation:
Stay after the Futurity/Maturity and learn more about K9 Nose Work and see if
it is right for you and your dog. Suzanne will demonstrate dogs working in
NW and answer questions on how to start your dog.
The sport of Nosework is unique in that it is open to all dogs: from shy or
fearful, to confident and bold-all are welcome. Family companion pets to high
energy working breeds all benefit from having a job to do with their favorite
K9 partner, you! Modeled after professional detection dog training for drugs
and explosives, Nosework dogs learn by using the same methodology as K9's for
police, military, medical alert, invasive pest detection and other
applications.
Suzanne Edholm, NACSW-CNWI, (National Association of Canine Scent
Work-Certified Nosework Instructor), has trained in obedience, rally,
agility, dock diving, lure coursing, and she works with shelter dogs on a
daily basis. She began training her dogs in Nosework six years ago and she
is passionate about sharing the nose work experience with her classes in
Pleasanton and Danville California, with field trips in the surrounding area.
