I would think Barbara is right. First of all, she is younger, smarter, and
more involved than me. Also, she has never failed to remember her judging.
In my case, I often forget where my glasses are.
I want to thank those who have sent in donations for the Juniors. I was
starting to think no one cared. Now I have to work with Daphne and order the
pins and medals. She started doing it, and has helped me each year.

Boy, it sure brings back the memories. I do remember the Slay puppies.
And, someone sent me the list of progeny from Dakota from the Futurities, and
it was amazing.
Marie took Slay to her home when we decided he should have a place of his
own. Marie did breed Slay, but always disclosed that he had a bad elbow.
I miss Slay, and Marie as well.
I can't forget Destiny, as she went Select in 82, (number two Select from
Winner's Bitch). I took her in the ring myself, and in front of me was
Joan Fox's great Grand Victrix, and behind me was Dave Rinke with the next
year's Grand Victrix. Can you imagine me in the ring with Dave running behind
me. The dust was so thick that we ran into a fog, and appeared on the
other side of the ring out of the dust. It was sawdust and sand bark. I think
it was supposed to be a horse arena.
Were we ever that young?

bitch
to "Slay".......I am sure just about anyone who knew I was doing this
remembers
it, because right after I had gotten my bitch bred, I drove home......and
was
called as soon as I got home to tell me "Slay" was dead.
my bitch had 2 pups
a sable male that did have DJD and a Black & Tan Female that did not. She
had 4
litters and never produced a DJD......I think I kept something from each
of her
litters .........and until I stopped breeding dogs , if we went back far
enough
"Slay" was in the pedigree..............I know I was not the only one to
breed
to "Slay" and often wondered what happened to the other pups.
