Seems like it....I had it once too and both sides of the pedigree had it.
The same bitch in two prior litters (different daddies, large litters)
hadn't produced it. One of those daddies has been bred to several other
bitches who had produced mega in prior litters w/o an occurrence. So...while
certainly NOT science and certainly NOT a large enough sample to say w/
certainty, if I was a betting person, I'd say it needs to be on both
sides....but I don't think it's as simple as matching up the recessives (like
coats
for example).
Pretty tough to find a popular pedigree with absolutely no occurrence of
mega...
Would be LOVELY to have a DNA marker to be sure though...no?
