One of my owners recently took her 5 year old bitch who wasn't feeling well to the vet. After x-rays and ultrasound it was discovered she had a mass on her spleen. Vet was sure it was cancerous so removed her spleen. the biospsy results luckily came back negative also a biopsy of the liver was negative. I know dogs can live without a spleen but my question is what can the owner do, if anything, to boost her girls immune system to live a full and healthy life without the spleen. Very active dog and owner in performance activities. Thought some of you may have been through this as I know the spleen is often removed with torsion.
