Use Metacam for problems with the elderly (available from a vet) Does
not have the effects on organs like Rimadyl has (which I hate!). It is a
safe anti inflammatory and analgesic.
You do need to double dose for about 3-5 days, then can cut to a normal
dose for about 10 days and then I have found for long term use you can get
them down to 1/2 dose to maintain.
Buy the 180 mgs....much more cost effective long term.
Had a bitch a few years ago, Moonbeam, that I put on Metacam at 11 and she
stayed on it until she passed at 13 1/2 with no side effects.
