Aleve is an OTC dose of naproxen and is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. I've used it off and on for years with my back. Works great but the Dr. said to never take it without food and never in excess in that, like aspirin, it will eat through the protective lining of the stomach and cause bleeding. If that is so for people, than I assume it might be more so for dogs in that we can tolerate aspirin but they can't. I think I'd run this one past a vet.
