So then why do the judges ask for it and then put up an animal they NEVER
see on a loose lead...our shows have become races...

You never have, nor will you ever see me put up a dog that isn't on a loose
lead long enough for me to see what I want to see. I don't mind if the
handler keeps the dog strung up all class, so long as I get to see what I want
slow on a loose lead.

I have never had anyone not give me a loose lead when I have asked for it,
but some times I have had to ask three or four times. One time I took the
handler out to the center and explained what it meant to let the dog go on a
loose lead. You would think after someone had handled for 30 years, he would
know
what it is?

I usually can see what I want in about 20 feet.
