That is so funny. I just told someone on the list who sent me the post to
see if 4 Paws could help and I told her that I sent an email to this woman to
find out more information. I also said I doubted the validly of her request for
a "real" service dog because no one should even try to train a dog for use
in public in that amount of time nor do I believe the dog would be a good
service dog but instead one of the reasons people who use real service dogs
get
hassled.
Delta Society lists the minimum standards for service dogs at 120 hours and
I think that is pushing it. Even our dogs that do nothing but emotional
support, handled by an able bodied parent for a child with a disability get
well
over a month of intensive training and usually months of training in the
prison before that!
