Ah... While I usually always agree with you Evan, and yes, you do
indicate you have not made up your mind yet, here is the problem....
If we take all of the excess food in this country of fat people and
send it all to the starving nations of the world, will we stop hunger?
Hollywood seems to think so, but I suspect poverty will still exist
because it is a perpetual result, not of lack of resources, but of
political exploitation, government policy and the strangulation of
free enterprise. If we re-distribute the wealth, in a short time, it
will flow back toward the industrious, then to the lawyers then back
to the government, and everyone will be back where they started -
broke.

Same thing with pets..... If the responsible stop making them, that
does not mean that the irresponsible now who allow for random breeding
in the street will improve their program and stop overproducing. My
personal belief is that the pure bred dog fancy does not,
by-and-large, create the problem. Occasionally, yes, but not in large
part. That is why I hate the current rage in legislation - it is
socialistic in nature. It strikes out at the shadow of a problem,
without digging into the substance of it.

Example: Limiting the number of animals a person may have does not
guarantee proper treatment for any of the animals. It just makes the
council who passed it feel better about their responsibilities. The
problem is animal abuse whither by the gatherer/hoarder, or by the
person with one that they do not take care of. Again: Attack the
shadow and miss the substance.

I am sort of a radical in many areas. I do not think dogs should have
a license - they seldom drive anyway. It is the people who need a
license and should take a class and a test before getting a pet. The
birds and the bees should be part of that class - you know, if your
dog runs the streets intact it will have babies! Guaranteed.

Ok, I could go on, but enough! To many unwanted animals is the
problem. Show breeders do not create the over supply, in most part.
Ignorance and lack of caring is the problem and stopping me from
having an occasional litter will not feed the starving world,
eliminate all the stupid people who let their dogs have 'accidents' or
raise the price of gas.

Now that I have convinced you Evan and turned you into a conservative,
do you have any liberal friends I can talk to?????????????///
Got to go now. I'm missing Hanidy.......
