You and I usually agree, but not this time, Paulette. VBG I have
seen a few long coats shown in the USA without being trimmed. Yes a
"coat" is a fault, but not a disqualification. In instances where I
have seen this, THOSE dogs were quietly moved to the end of the line
in their classes. A missing tooth is a fault, not a
disqualification. There are faults in movement too. There are faults
in temperament that could turn into individual disqualifications. I
would rather see a balanced, coated dog win rather than some of the
drug-induced zombies I've seen win over the last 35+ years.

A "regular" long coat, with a soft, open outer coat and no undercoat
is still considered a fault and can not be shown.
