Noelle, it has always been acceptable to show a long coat in all breed
shows.Go ahead and show your dog, but get some advice about judges as some of
themdo not know enough about the standard to judge them. Our standard has
threeratings of faults: fault; serious fault, very serious fault. Long coat
is merely a fault.

Is there any talk of AKC accepting Long Coats to be shown in the All Breed
shows? Are they being shown in Specialties or is this just something for the
National itself. I have some long coats from German lines and would like to
show them in AKC All Breed Shows if there ever is an opportunity. They are
shown in the SV shows in their own class. Some of them are absolutely stunning.
