I think because it's such an obvious fault the long coat get's treated as a
serious fault which it is not. Most people don't even show them anymore
because it's too difficult to win with a coat. I think this would go a long
way to having the long coat judged correctly.
Besides, I can't think of a good reason not too. It may lead to more
involvement. There are some beautiful long coats out there. I'd love to see
them.
