Kathy dear!....I don't think they are being rewarded for being "white"...they
are being rewarded for having the best GSD in the obedience
competition!...but lets take your point further ( or is it farther..lol)...now
lets say I have two smart Bk/Tan GSDs...they mate, I get a white...oh
hell!..now what do I do.....I decide to keep her, train her, and guess
what..she goes high in trial at the National....I did NOT deliberately breed a
DQ fault.....I bred two German Shepherd dogs who just happened to produce
German Shepherd puppies, one of whom just happened to be white.......I know
most will not change their minds on the subject, one way or another, but the
conversation is fascinating to me, and then again...I have no job, no life,
and no white dogs...lol...and there IS something wrong with that...lol...but
I'm blessed...FB

I have a question from another angle. I've been saying all along that the
recent inclusion of dogs w/ DQs to be eligible at the national for PC V/VX
awards is a DQ thing and not a "white" thing. For me anyway...
I've said (as far as whites are concerned) let them all in or let them all
go.
But as long as white breeders are, as the GSD standard is NOW,
deliberately breeding a DQ.....why would the PC reward that w/ recognition of
our
highest awards????
You know, I could see if a dog broke their tail (the example Julie used)
and the owner had a vet's note and the dog qualified for the award.
But to deliberately breed FOR what is NOW a DQ and be rewarded???? And to
make that change w/o any member or committee chair input....Isn't that a
slap in the face to those of us who DO our damndest to adhere to the
standard?????
(And please spare me the history of whites...I don't care. Either in or
out. Change the standard or not. But for now it's a DQ.)
