[ SHOWGSD-L ] Let me raise an issue

When I first ran for president of the GSDCA, my opponent used the
membership list to send a letter to everyone. The board had just voted to
allow it
to be used, but only if purchased by a candidate.
When asked, we were told because he and another board member were able to
scan it, and use it, they didn't have to pay. I didn't agree with that
then, and do not agree with it now. I paid for the use of the membership
list, and Ken Downing, Rita Sandell and I paid for it, and campaigned together.
I don't know if the board ever changed the rules, but I do wonder if all
these posts I am getting were paid for? I know those who sent them and if
they knew that was the rule, I have no doubt they would have paid the fees.
it would be some aditional money for our club.
I also wonder about those who never posted in the past on the List, but are
doing so now for the election. While I appreciate all the information we
are getting, I am not impressed if this is the first we have heard from them
this year.
I was amazed at the quality of those willing to serve this club. And,
elected or not, I thank them all for offering to sit on the board.
Now, when you get elected, limit those who want to run in the future, and
reduce the board to something more reasonable for the size of the
membership.
