We had a bitch with epilepsy who had a severe problem with constipation.
They cleaned her out at the Vet hospital, then suggested we mix canned
pumpkin into her food. It helped.
We also started adding pumpkin to the rest of our dogs' food on a regular
basis. They love it and it helps stimulate their appetite during the
summer. Their stools are great.
Pumpkin can be used to regulate diarrhea or constipation. Just like fiber
in humans. Just make sure the pumpkin is PLAIN - no spices added.
And *always* get a dog checked out by a Vet if it develops constipation.
This is *not* normal! There could be an underlying condition causing the
constipation.

This is a new one for me. A friend was sharing with me that she is
concerned about her dog, it appears this dog is suffering from
constipation.
I suggested she made a call to her vet, explaining to her the possibility

a blockage. She wanted to know if there was such thing as doggie
laxatives.
I drew a blank, I don't believe I've ever heard of laxatives for dogs as
an
over the counter type treatment. So I figured I ask "The List".
Yes, she was taking her dog to the vet this morning. I wish she did it
last
nite, but at least she didn't give her Ex-lax. <G>
