I have on occasion done this. I don't mean to do it, but as I watch the class I may see something that I missed in an earlier pass. I try to have my winner up front when I point to him or her, but I can surprise myself. I remember one show where O'Connor won American Bred and Jerry had the Open Dog Winner, (a Ben son) in front. After a couple of passes the judge pointed to me in second place for the major. I would have been very pleased with either choice. On the other hand, it might just be that the judge was a very mean spirited jerk, and wanted to ruin the day of the dog in front. It is often hard to know the difference. Not that there is anything right with that.
