Subject: The Nationals LaMar Kuhns Award
I found out late Saturday night that I am the 2009 recipient of the LaMar
Kuhns Award. I had left Springfield to head back to Columbus for my early
morning return flight to Louisiana.
I apologize for not being at the Victory Dinner to personally receive the
award. I have read articles and heard stories about LaMar Kuhns. I had
never met him because I was a teenager and not yet involved with German
Shepherds when he passed.
It is an honor to receive this award in memory of Mr. Kuhns who contributed
greatly to the breed. It is also an honor to be recognized among the
other handlers who have previously received this award.
