Who knows Doris by now the smell of Doggy doo could smell
like gold to those wanting to earn a buck. Maybe that person
is gone by now. How long ago was that.

Both Reno and Las Vegas have a rather aggressive Convention
and Visitors Bureau, who will, by the way, contribute money
to get a big convention into town. We, however, are not a
big convention in their terms.
We got the same reaction as Doris a few years back when we
tried to get information about a Reno Nationals. It is not
the dogs that is the issue.... I tried to put together a
Pastor's Conference in Reno years ago and was told that they
are not interested in sponsoring conventions that do not
gamble. (Little do they know!) <g> It is the money they
want, pure and simple.
But things have changed. Gaming is down, lay-offs are
happening at the casinos, the casino association has asked
the state to lower the gaming age to 18, so they are
hurting.
We are only 500 miles away, in the pretty part of the state.
I like the idea.
