I've been using Diamond Extreme Athlete and Pro Plan's equivalent for quite
a few months. Initially, the results were good: Great coats, vital, happy
dogs. THEN: a 5 year old develops pano, first in the front, then in the
rear; overnight, a yearling presents a HUGE hotspot; a 7 year old suddenly
doesn't want to eat hearty, after eating voraciously for years and she also
has diarrhea (stool sample NEGATIVE.) It took me awhile, but I figured out
it was the food. I changed to less protein and less fat. Within a day,
the pano lessened, then went away. The hotspot dried. The diarrhea went
away completely and ALL dogs are eating like there's no tomorrow, the way
it's always been. Less appears to be more.

Has anyone experienced stuff like this with the high-powered protein/fat
combos?

I switched to Beef/Potato Diamond Natural no grain. Seems to be working
great; only time will tell. I should also say that the dogs get raw
chicken also.
