[ SHOWGSD-L ] Kennel Cough?

Yesterday I visited a friend of mine.....her elderly GSD has a dry
cough.....she says it's been for a while. Having 5 dogs at home I was
concerned.
Immediately Kennel Cough came to my mind.
Today on a visit with her vet......diagnosis: dog has a sore throat.....put
on meds. The Vet, nor she, do not know the term Kennel Cough.
Would her dogs condition come under the description of a case of Kennel Cough?
