I have grey Rat snakes, at least that is what I was told they are. Grey with
orange just behind the head. I keep the dogs away if I see them. I move them
to the front of the house where there are no dogs if I must. sheila

Someone once told us that Black Rat snakes will keep "bad" snakes
away. We used to have several large Rat snakes in the yard, but they
seem to have disappeared and this is only the second time in 12 years
that we've found a poisonous snake in the yard.
