WOW...kind of a sweeping generalization. Just because one judge made a stupid
statement,
an AB BIS means nothing? I wish I had 10 to 20 thousand to spend each month,
it sure wouldn't
be on advertising. We managed 8 BIS without that kind of spending...and we
managed it with
a tough Herding Group and some of the TOP Dogs in the country in for BIS. We
never flew anywhere
and we were not a syndicated group. Our handler was well know to the GSD folk
but not to the
AB judges....Gee, maybe it was just a damn good dog.

The fact that a dog wins BIS at an ab show does not prove one thing, unless it
is
that the owner has the money to spend ten or twenty thousand per month on�
advertising. �How many times have we seen a dog go BIS without a big-name
handler on the lead ? �Recently, a friend (also a judge) standing next to me
remarked
�of the�group 1 dog, �"That is a fairly nice bitch ". �Our standard is quire
adamant
that a dog look like a dog and a bitch look like a bitch, and that "bitch" had
a penis.
Also, it would be a horrendously weak group for a fairly nice �dog to win group
1.
OTOH, we have some members who are showing exceptionally good dogs in the
ab ring and are doing very well. Just one example of incompetence : my puppy
the week before had gone WD from the 6 - 9 class, when this judge placed him
2nd�
in the class and with a sneer said, "That is a specialty dog ". �Hmmmm, two
different
breeds ?
