It is sad that John is gone, he was one of the GOOD guys in this breed and
encouraged me to go out there and owner handle.
When I first met John it was in North Carolina at a big Spec. show there in
the early 90's. I handled a Special bitch, "Ch. Kridler's Sweet Sunshine" who
was a SUPER moving bitch, the judge that day didn't know me for adam and he
told the crowd he liked both bitch Specials a lot but he went with the other
well known handler of course. Anyway when I walked out of the ring CRYING and
bitching saying, "THESE DAM JUDGES IF THEY WOULD ONLY LOOK AT THE DOG".. then
JOHN DEHOPE comes up to me, puts his arm around me and says, " HONEY NOT ALL
JUDGES ARE LIKE THAT" he made me feel good that day.
John will be missed....
