The GSDCA cannot be all things to all people.  Although I started with
Schutzhund work in the 70s, I met my mentor Ellen Hejntz then and she began
educating me about bloodlines & structure.  I became interested in
conformation showing, also obedience.  After all this time. I am still most
interested in breed , but also wanted the dogs to have titles in what their
original purpose was, herding.  Julie Degen has made that passion come to
fruition:  brains and beauty, all AMERICAN BRED.  I didn't have to breed or
buy another "type" of GSD for the 6 working titles the dogs attained this
year.  MY interests, MY money.  In a roundabout way I guess what I am
trying to say is that breeders/owners are doing what THEY love best with
the type of dog THEY love best.  The schism is man-made and, in all
honesty, I don't think the club can bridge the gap.  The club needs to step
back, look, and the BOD must learn that the bleeding has to stop.  Shore
up, scale back and most importantly, listen to the membership before there
is nothing left.  We members want, need, and deserve transparency.  This is
NOT a dictatorship. This is a club.

VOTE.
