Anything you want to do on the coast at this point, no way. There is so much
work going on and it basically is closed but to the people that live (lived)
there for clean up. Would have to know the name of the preserve you are
talking about and I can check on it.
The "boats" are open in Lake Charles, LA which is only a 40 minute drive from
Beaumont. There is Delta Downs which is just over the LA line, about 25 m
inutes also if you don't want to go so far for a casino.
Golf courses are all open. Crockett St, downtown Beaumont is always fun...the
have some good clubs and everything spills out onto the sidewalks/streets
often.
There is the Janis Joplin museum in Pt Arthur, Babe Dedriksen one in Beaumont.
And of course great food.
