That made me look hard at my position on the Junior situation.
While I have always made it a point not to thank or recognize those who
donate, as I want it to be truly altruistic, there is one person who I feel
the need to mention.
For years I have admired and respected Linda Bankhead. She takes time to
video the shows for candid shots, and sends them out. She has been the
voice of the individuals at the board meetings. Now, she has taken up the
cause of the Juniors and collects money to donate. She gave half this year
to the Futurity system, and one quarter to the Junior Committee of the
parent club, which spends it to support the competition, and one quarter to
the German Shepherd Dog Club of America Junior Handler Foundation, GSYRF,
(or whatever the hell I named my program).
She does this because she believes in the cause, and works hard to make that
contribution.
I know we all recognize "JoLin", (Joan and Linda), but this year Linda has
decided to include my personal project, and we owe her a debt of gratitude.
Linda has obtained donations from many of the people who support the
Futurity System, and the Juniors.
So, the next time you see her, take a minute to thank her for all she has
done, and to recognize those who did donate. She did not give me their
names, but you know who you are.
And, send in your dollars as well.
