[ SHOWGSD-L ] It never ends

I just got a very hostile post from a wonderful person, Kris. She insisted
that I immediately correct myself that I am not the Agent for Service of
Process. So, I asked Margy to send me the notice from New York, because I
remember
Bob Williamson asking me to be just that.
On the corporate records the German Shepherd Dog Club of America is listed
my address here at the law office for service of all litigation or law suites
against the club. Under Agent, it says none. I have a copy of it in my
computer now, so if anyone wants to see it, let me know. It is one page, and
brought back the memories of when I found out that for almost 50 years we were
the Shepherd Club of America.
So, I correct myself, it is my office that was served, and actually I am not
the official Agent for Service, and so I will have to adjust my fees. What
is half of nothing? There is no agent designated.
It amazes me how hostile some of our board members have become and I do
understand why Margy felt the only remedy was to litigate. It isn't slowing
down,
and the post from Kris seemed especially nasty for no particular reason.
Kris is a great person, but this seems to have weighed her down.
The club has been served, and now it is up to the courts to decide the
remedy. As an attorney, (as is Margy), I know it is not personal. But, I
doubt
the other defendants will feel the same. It will be interesting to see the
conclusion of this, and other than testifying as a witness if asked to do so
under subpoena, I will not be involved. The club will be protected by our
insurance, and the policy will determine if the individuals are covered since
the
acts alleged are intentional, and usually that is not covered.
We do live in interesting times.
