The AKC is no longer run by dog people so therein lies the problems we are
seeing.

Again.......maybe it's just me..........<G>........but it seems to me with that
philosophy you should
be able to award points to more than just one Winners Dog and Winners Bitch
also..........?
I have no problem with it if some are happy seeking after it......as some
say....it makes them happy.
But it seems that with your perspective of this.......every single Champion
....if shown often enough
will become a "GRAND" Champion.
I can't understand the concept that the Champion is not worthy of earning Best
Of Breed or
Best Opp. in competition....or.... the "contest".......yet is worthy of
becoming a "GRAND" Champion.
Something in the name or title sounds better than just a Champion to me......(
so maybe it IS me ) <G>
BUT we are saying the W.D. is of such quality as to go OVER the Champion for
Best Of Breed.....but
the Champion has the merit to be a "GRAND" Champion?? It just doesn't sound
quite right......
It just seems to me that AKC has not given a lot of effort in thinking this
through......the reasons,
the clarity of how it is awarded......especially after watching this discussion
for over a week.
Two animals of each sex of what quality??? They are already CHAMPIONS....so
we know the
"quality" is there......but they lost to another Champion that will NOT get the
"GRAND" Champion
points.....but they will......<G>
I don't get it.......<G>

Sure. It is not a contest of one over the other. It is based on the quality
of the animals. There is no
placing of the Grand Champion, it is just which two animals of each sex are of
that quality.
