Thanks to everyone who took the time to write to me about this......many privately and then many on my own list and some from the other lists. Most people agree that the GSD is not a dog for everyone. Then there were a few who thought they were. Many people thought that this is a breed that needs to go to a home where early training is highly recommended. Establishing yourself as the "alpha" was very important to such an intelligent dog like this. Also most thought they should go to a home that would provide this dog with stimulation and things to keep him busy. Exercise was another key factor to ownership of the GSD. So there you have it.
