Hi Becky, Usually, when I have a litter or placing a dog, I am very lucky because I am a full time handler who gets lots of inquries for dogs. Ironically, given this economy, I would suspect the sales would've been a bit slower, but they aren't. Usually, I dont breed unless I have about 4-5 homes for animals lined up. I dont breed often. Usually I get a few more inquiries with the litters. I network, usually by worth of mouth, and that usually procures my sales. If I dont have anything they are looking for, I can usually say, "Call so-and so, they have a nice (whatever color" male or female you may be interested in) and it all works out in the wash. Fortunately, if its something I really want done and finished, I am in a position to keep it and do it myself if I feel the right home (or backer) hasn't come along.
