Just to be clear, I cannot comment on the issue at hand as i don't know all the
details and i've learned all too well the details often determine the rightness
or wrongness of a situation. My post was simply to commend Jeff for being a
stand up guy given the ruling by the AKC, it does not comment on whether the
AKC is correct or not.
On this list and in other forums of our day to life we give publicity to the
negative and ignore the positive, it's called "sensationalism", it is time to
give kudo's to a young man for dealing responsibly and with integrity in what
is a difficult situation for him and the others affected.
Ofcourse i reserve the right to change my opinion of Jeff if his dogs beat
mine at the National<VBG>.

This is just kooky. If no rules were broken then what is the issue? If I were
the owner of this bitch I would be having a royal fit and it wouldn't be
directed at the judge or the handler...it would be squared directly at the AKC.
I'd also want to know who filed the complaint as it would seem (based only on
responses on the list) that this was a trumped up charge. Time is short but if
the AKC is making an incorrect ruling then I would suggest the owner get on the
horn and try to straighten this mess out FAST.

As a judge I find it truly challenging to exhibit and judge and at times
find myself not exhibiting much when I know I am judging because it's very
easy to make an innocent mistake. I also find it difficult to find a handler
because handlers don't want to miss a days work when they can't show under
you.
AKC stresses to it's judges that it's a difficult balance.
And they are right it is............I think in the past too many bad apples
have tainted the process making them come down hard. And I'm not just
talking in our breed but overall......................
It is sad that good people have to hurt over this and we all share in their
hurt too........we all can imagine the anguish this causes and I am sorry
anyone has to go through this.
I guess if we take anything positive away from this, it makes us all very
aware and very careful not to do anything that could take away from the
integrity of it all. Even if it's a very innocent mistake.
It is so easy to slip up innocently and I think it shows alot of class for
you all to step up and say it out in the open. I truly believe your mistake
was not intentional and you are a fine young handler with good
