When Her Martin was president, and judged the national show, he put up his  
brother's dogs, and together they promoted the roach back . I talked to Her 
 Martin when he was here, and he felt that back was like an arch bridge, 
the  power was transmitted better from the rear if the back had a roach.
 
After he died, the later presidents have tried to change the backs.   From 
what I am seeing now, there is less of the roached back. But, they still  
have the short powerfull necks. I don't much like that look either, but it is  
from what I learned to like, not for any real reason.
 
But, since what I think is all that matters, there is nothing wrong with  
that.
