That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. If they don't want to get
involved, they should not be on the Board. Perhaps they will step
down...then we can get people who know how to think for themselves and are not
afraid
of taking a stand to take their places.
I have to agree with this and hope it is not true. I know these might just
be rumors, but if any board members declines to serve when asked, he or she
should just resign. Being elected to our board carries a heavy burden, and
great responsibility to the members. Those who ran, knew this.
I was told that one of those current board members who wants to keep Hunte
in the club is trying to get other board members not to take part in the
meeting so there can't be a quorum. If this is true, and can be proven, I will
personally send in $50.00 and bring charges. No one should interfere with the
club business for personal reasons. I hope it is just a rumor.
Any director who is conflicted on his or her position should take part in
the meeting and if uncertain how to vote, abstain. If you agree to run, you
agree to serve. If this is too difficult for a director, then that person
should resign and let someone serve who is willing to do the work. If the
director
is engaged in something they can't get out of, then it makes sense. If not,
I would ask that all directors attend, and at least represent us little
people who do not get to vote. We need you there, no matter what your
position is.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
