[ SHOWGSD-L ] I love dog shows!

After I wrote my last post about dog shows not being what they used to be...
I sat down and thought for a while about it.. I know the games, the politics,
the enhancements, the fixes, etc. Heck, I show in probably the most enhanced,
dyed and fixed group there is (Poodles, Chows, Kees, Tibetan Terriers, etc),
but you know what......?
I still love dog shows... Good quality, competitive Dalmatians CAN and do
compete with Poodles and all the hair - we may not have as much money, but we
do just fine.... I love the grooming on so many breeds - it is an artform... I
love watching handling - some bad, some good and some fabulous... I even like
the politics, the b.s., etc because I have been at it long enough to enjoy it
and not let it burn me (we went through that phase a while back)...
I love watching beautiful Shepherds - I know some are dyed, some are fixed,
etc, but I go along with it because to me, it is part of the sport...
Definately not legal, but still. And I still like to think in my own Cinderella
world that most people are pretty honest and pretty decent and most still love
their dogs..... Please note, I said MOST....
Dog shows are what make my life whole - they aren't my whole life....
