I understand the expense thing...Dog showing in general is expensive! As
far as futurities, is the expense you're speaking of mainly is the handler's
fee??? The only way I can think of impacting that would be for more young
handlers to get into showing....One way, but not the only way, would be for
the system to be more "inclusive" rather than "exclusive". Maybe more
youngsters would want to handle at the futurities if they thought they had a
shot at going to the National with a reserve......Am I being to idealistic?

No Secret I quit the futurity system a long time ago - I felt they had
gotten too expensive, not enough bang for my bucks and the final decision
came when a dog had to compete against one he had already defeated.
I bring these things up because with a new Chairman and committee I think
they might like to hear ideas no matter what they are
