Before I say what I have to say "ALL WINS ARE GREAT" if you are on the
winning end. It all depends on what a person is interested in as an exhibitors.
That is the reason we have pork, chicken, beef, fish etc. In Paula's case
she won under 3 different judges but a BIS can be won under two judges.
One can do the breed and the group with another one doing BIS. It has to be
at least two since a judge cannot judge the breed, group and BIS. Since we
are on a GSD list I will give an example of a BIS without defeating any of
your own Breed. If you have a single entry in GSDs, then that GSD wins the
group and goes BIS. That animal won a BIS without defeating any animals of
its breed. To some people that would not make a difference as long as they
got the BIS then others would diminish the win. I can honestly say I have
never awarded a win to anyone who came back and said take it back I don't
want it. <G> When I judged the Nationals everyone that got a placing told me
how happy they were with the win. I did BIS a few months back and gave it
to a Doberman. When we went to take the picture the handler was crying. I
asked her if this was her first BIS on her dog. She told me that is was
number 45 and here she was so happy she was crying. It all depends on what a
person is looking for in the sport. No one win is better than another. As I
said all wins are GREAT. Be happy for others when they win in the venue they
chose to make themselves happy.
