Cats, yes this is probably true but dogs? No way - not in Ohio. There are  
few dogs running feral and filling the shelters with pups. Most of the dogs 
that 
 are in our shelters have been owned by someone. The pups bred so the kids 
can  experience birth, because they love their dog and the dog across the 
street 
was  pretty cool also, because their friend loved their dog and wanted a 
puppy from  her, they thought they had all the dogs placed before they bred 
their 
dog to a  neighbors, they didn't think their dog could get pregnant because 
she only went  out to go potty and 101 other stupid reasons. Notice I said 
feral 
dogs do  not produce many of the dogs in shelters and not that all the people 
 in Ohio were all that bright  In fact one family wanted to donate the  
litter of pups they bred to us for service dogs - they bred on purpose  their 
German Shepherd Dog (well they actually said their German Shepard) to a  Hound 
dog 
to produce the perfect service dog for their child and that the pup  she was 
keeping was already fully trained in service dog work - now for their  age 10 
WEEKS old. I told our service dog trainer he was going to be out of a job  if 
he didn't get on the ball, since this person had their service dog fully  
trained at 10 weeks of age. <<<sigh>>>
