Amy, you made a great points regarding both the List and the Parent =
Club.
Re the List - the Admins. have always intended that the List be a =
resource
to the Fancy - while the List is a private effort, and not part of the
GSDCA, it was created to be the network of the Fancy and, as we see it, =
the
Regional Clubs and the Parent Clubs ARE the backbone of the sport and of =
the
Fancy. So, by definition, we want to do everything in our power to =
support
them. We encourage the Regional Clubs to use Showgsd-l to promote their
shows, events, membership drives, etc. Those Clubs who have done that
credit Showgsd-l with helping them to pull majors. We can't guarantee =
that
of course, but clearly it does help - most handlers and active =
exhibitors
are members of the List, and so posts regarding upcoming shows =
definitely
does help to get their attention. If you need help and support, put the
word out on the List - there are many people who will help if they =
realize
help is needed.
Re the Parent Club - the Board cares very much about the Regional Clubs,
recognizes that the health of the Regional Clubs is critical to the =
health
of the Parent Club, and that the health of both is critical to the =
Breed,
and does want to be supportive in any way we can. Please let us know =
when
you need help and if you have particular needs or suggestions, please =
let us
know what they are. We will do our absolute best to help.

the regional clubs committee and he has been very dedicated to the =

clubs in all ways. I know this,,,,,i have worked with him in the =
committee.
I am sure if there is a need he will be right there doing his best to =
help
and guiding the PC to help also...............

You bring up a good point. I think part of every regional clubs bylaw
should include an article where the regional club is required to ask for
counseling and help from the Parent Club not only when they are folding, =
but
when they are issues of ethics, treasury, and anything else that happens =
in
a club.
Disclaimer: None of these were issues at the GSDC of Dallas.
I am not the bad guy, and I am not a hero. I did what I expected =
every
member to do. The heroes are those who worked at it far longer than I =
did.
But, sometimes things just don't work out. I believe in doing the right
thing, even when that decision is not the popular one. I will not be =
held
hostage to politically correct positions for popularity sake. =20
This would be a good time for those clubs who are in trouble, and =
believe
me when I tell you there are many, to reach out and see if anything can =
be
done to save them. And as I said before, I will be happy to help any =
club,
old and new, while I am waiting for the final moving date. But those =
who
are in the clubs, or want to be in the clubs, or want to take over, need =
to
stop the lip service and support the clubs before is too late.
