Well first of all, if this happens -- and I really hope it
does -- it should NOT be a "registry" of any sort. After
all... My *very* purebred setter has his ILP number and
AKC was very clear that I understand my dog is NOTNOTNOT
"registered" with AKC. He is merely "listed." What's good
for Rusty should be good enough for any mix and its owner.
That said, AKC needs to get off it butt and do something
for all the rare breeds that it has stuck in FSS limbo
BEFORE they even think about allowing mixes to title!!
After all... Rare breeds are purebred dogs too. And that
needs to count for something with AKC.
