YOU Aren' the only one .In Perry the last time it was there, A Friend and I,
drove down a few Months in advance to HOPEFULLY secure our room ! When we
got there ( Not even the host motel) WE were told that the decent rooms were
already Booked ! When we got there she did get a good round floor room. how
I am not sure , I got an UPSTAIRS room . i had to haul the cooler , dog
crate , dog suitcases all Upstairs and climb those stairs . I have bad
knees, back and am almost 70. I also had to leave one dog in the cratein the
van and I wasn't real close either. I won't do that again !

Cynthia,thanks for your e-mail. I,too,got carried away,in my
frustration. My experience this year ,for instance,was that I first
tried the host hotel....I was told "oh no,we have been booked for
MONTHS" (I did tell her I was a member) I then went down the "line" of
the ones the club had listed,only to hear "we're all full" each time.
There were finally two left,each without grass...naturally they had
rooms! So I booked one (Country Inn & Suites) and it actually turned out
to be GREAT! They did turn out to have enough grass,the biggest
"Continental" breakfast I have ever seen served in ANY hotel AND we had
a room right at the back door....easy in and out with the dogs. So we
got lucky. But it is frustrating to go through this each year. And it
did make me believe that somehow "those in the know" get the information
before the rest of us,which didn't strike me as fair,especially in a
club that claims it doesn't want to be that way. But, maybe everyone
just calls on the day it comes out in the Review,and by my waiting a
week or two,that's just too long. I wrote my e-mail in total
frustration,when that one woman wrote that she had called the 2007 Hlton
and they told her it was full already. In retrospect,probably they are
holding the rooms until a certain time. I think I am just not "fast
enough" each year! Anyway,I apologize,for my angry post,written,as
these things usually are,before thinking it through.
