Hi Tina,
Quality of life for the dog or the owner are my first considerations.
If I recognize something in the whelping box - something that will cause a
lifetime of financial or emotional pain for the owner, I will not place the
dog. If the dog is going to have a very short lifespan of pain, I will not
place the dog.
As far as guarantees - for the most part all of my pet guarantees are the
same - replacement for debiltating hip or elbow dysplasia (meaning dog
limps, needs surgery, etc. as some dysplastic dogs never have symptoms or
pain), or for anything else considered genetic that is, again, debilitating.
Some say that prevent the puppy from doing what it was purchased to do. (Be
a pet, show, agility, etc.)
