It's not important how "we" define commercial, it's important how the township/municipality, borough/city etc. where we live defines "commercial" and the limits put on the same. Now would be a very good time for everyone to check their zoning rules and regs. In my parents' development, someone trying to sell a home recently lost the sale. The would be purchaser was a chiropractor who wanted to see clients at home. No go in their community. Applied for a variance and was turned down; the neighbors didn't want added traffic and potentially they didn't want to see loss of property value. That, IMO is their right. It's a residential neighborhood; if the good chiropractor wants a business he'll have to look for either a mixed zoning area, or have a separate office in a commercial area.
