Congratulations! I love watching the herding, have even put HT's on my dogs for
fun. That is a wonderful accomplishment and you also get credit because a lot
of the success in herding is the dog handler. Believe me I know as I am
terrible with the sheep!

Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Herding brag

I just wanted to share a milestone accomplishment just earned by my 4 year
old sable longcoat "Maya vom Binderhaus". Some of you may remember a previous
brag from Maya as at the time she earned her PAM she was the youngest GSD to
have accomplished the PAM (at 20 months of age). Well, she has gone on from
there and now adds another accomplishment: she has completed the requirements
for her Herding Excellent "C" Masters title! This means that after having
earned her HXC title, she has gone on to qualify at least 8 more times, showing
consistently good work.

I just got off the phone with AKC and have confirmed that she is the first
FEMALE GSD to have earned this title. Her father "HC Juno vom Binderhaus" was
the first dog of all breeds to have earned the title and remains the only other
GSD to have this title at this time. In fact the AKC office tells me that
aside from Maya, only FOUR dogs of all breeds have earned this difficult title!
 (So now we are five...).

As Maya is young--she has many more trials ahead of her and hopefully someday
in the future we'll be announcing her HC!

Thanks for letting me brag,

Cynthia Binder DVM
