This is so great! I wish I could have been there to see your girls! Did you
take any film? There is nothing like watching our beautiful show dogs herd.
I have learned a lot about movement, and about the rationale behind certain
aspects of the standard, by watching correctly structured gsds herd. The
absence of a leash, plus the need to move at all speeds at different times,
gives a person a whole different set of opportunities to observe movement.
Kudos to all involved!!!

We are tickled that our AOE G.V.Sel. Excellent CH.Mar Haven's Black Orchid
T.C.,
H.T.... now P.T.
joined her cousin Sara at the same Herding Trial today and gaited her way to
another Herding
title....also earning two legs in one day for her second Herding Title for her
P.T. She loves it and
loved her two weeks of work with Sandy Moore and Terri Jones to get to herd.
It was fun to hear other people with other Breeds comment on how "that black
Shepherd" moves and
glides easily around the sheep as they came up to ask questions and comment on
how they enjoyed
watching her move and herd.
I think both girls made friends for the G.S.D. Breed today as others watched
them work quietly and
efficiently. We all had fun while watching Sera do her perfect 'stops' and
sits while BO chooses to
stand and NOT look at the sheep for her 'stop'...( as she really does hate
that "stop part" of the rules.. )

She would naturally be a better boundary dog or Course C dog.
Both girls of course have to double check to make sure the sheep are 'locked'
in before they leave
the arena...... ( It's a "Boss thing" ) <G>

CH. MarHaven's Sarajevo Sunrise ("Sara") passed both pretrial tests
today and, pending AKC confirmation, can put the letters PT behind her
registered name. The organization that put on today's herding tests was
the Northern California Herding Group Association. They did a beautiful
job with their first event. Thank you to both judges, Debbie Pollard
and Sue Haase.
Sara's herding career has been ably managed by the team of Terri Jones
and Sandy Moore. Sandy did a masterful job of handling Sara today.
Sara also managed to get all of her "peeps" in one place today. Along
with Sandy, Terri, and myself, she had her breeders, Carolyn and Frank
Martello, and good friend, Linda Kury all there at the herding facility
in Vacaville, CA. Shirley

Our GV CH. Mar Haven's Black Orchid can now add PT to her name. Handled
by Sandy Moore, she did this today in Vacaville. What a good girl!!!
