[ SHOWGSD-L ] Herding Brag!

Today I went herding! The Border Collie Club of Los Angeles was holding
it's spring trial. They had 2 trials---a sheep trial and a combined
cattle/geese trial ("A" cattle, "A" geese, and "B" geese). I entered Juno in
the
Cattle//geese tr...ial to try TWO new somethings: Course "B" geese, and course
"A" cattle. Juno had never before been on cattle. We had a brief intro
session last Wed, and boom---into trial!
Well, I'm happy to report that Juno gave me fantastic runs on BOTH the
geese and the cattle, although I'm especially happy about his cattle run and
he visibly improved throughout his run as he learned how to deal with the
cattle!
I'm especially happy to report that from the 25+ dogs in this trial,
Juno emerged HIGH IN TRIAL!!! And of course he got the "High Scoring 'other
breed" award as well! LOL
Did I mention this was a BORDER COLLIE trial? And Juno was the lone GSD
there with only a couple of ACD's to intersperse with all the border
collies....
