I wanted to Thank everyone for your assistance, sharing of your experiences & kind words when I posted to the list for medical advice-Tumors. The outcome for Ben was sad. The owners opted for surgery. He was opened up & was loaded with tumors on the spleen, liver, kidneys etc. The ER vet commented to the owners "You must live under a power line". They didnt comment to the vet but the ironic thing is that they do have a power line in the far corner of their yard. My understanding of hemangiosarcoma is that it is not herditary although large breed dogs such as GSD's & goldens are prone for it. My vet describes it as a fluke, no rime or reason for one dog to have it & another not to have it. Could the power lines be a possiable cause for this?
