Denise is correct... Female Carpenter bees *do* have stingers. Males do
not. Both sexes are quite docile, but as Denise states - they can do
*serious* damage to a house with wood siding. We battle these guys every
spring and they've done a number on our cedar-sided house!

I can personally attest that they DO sting and it hurts. Ortho Home Defense
Max is the only thing I've found that works. They can do serious damage to a
house.
